Inside the Lab: The Science and Testing Behind Ejina Solar Tech’s Breakthrough Nano-Coating

Innovation starts with curiosity. At Ejina Solar Tech, we asked: what if solar panels could clean themselves? What if dust couldn’t stick, and snow couldn’t settle? Could we replicate nature’s lotus effect on solar glass using engineered nanostructures?

To answer that, we turned to science. Our lab became a playground for discovery. Using compressed nitrogen to simulate dust storms, wind tunnels to mimic gusty days, and ultrasonic humidifiers to replicate dew cycles, we put our nano-coating through every real-world condition we could think of.

What did we find? Coated glass retained 100% transparency after dust exposure. The detachment force of dust particles dropped by 100 times compared to uncoated glass. Light reflection was reduced by up to 90%. Ice and snow slid off with minimal contact, and dew condensed into spherical droplets that rolled off naturally.

These results are more than impressive—they’re transformative. They represent the culmination of countless hours of design, iteration, and validation. We also designed multi-height nanostructures that allow the coating to work effectively across a wide range of particle sizes, ensuring performance in varied environmental conditions.

Ask Yourself: When was the last time your solar tech provider explained their R&D process? At Ejina, we don’t just claim performance—we prove it.

Our journey from lab to field has been data-driven and results-oriented. With patents filed and commercial trials underway, we are ready to partner with manufacturers, cleaning companies, and solar farm operators across Canada and beyond.
